Low Threshold Centers on Selected Social Networks

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the importance of social networks in social work and their contribution to social workers in low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The theoretical part includes the definition of this particular social service, the determination of the target group, fieldwork, and outpatient work. Further, the thesis describes online social services, access to online services abroad, finally discusses children's leisure time and how the Covid-19 pandemic affected low-threshold facilities. The primary goal of this research was to determine the importance of social networks for social services in low-threshold centers. The partial aim was to characterise the use of social networks for social workers. Using a qualitative research strategy, semi-structured interviews, and processing data using IPA analysis, this study was designed to examine in detail the subjective experience of informants with the given issue. The research group consisted of informants from the South Bohemian Region (N = 8) and Prague (N = 8), who work in low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The analysis identified six main topics, which include the importance of social networks for social workers and clients, the importance of social networks during pandemics, the inclusion of online social services as one of the forms of social work, the perception of social networks by social workers and the meaning of networks in the future. This thesis could help to expand social work with children and young people into the digital sphere and thus get closer to them in the online world. My work can serve as a basis for social sciences students, social workers, professionals, and the lay public. In the future, digital work could also be used for other target groups.

Leisure activities as prevention of socially pathological phenomena

This thesis deals with the relationship between leisure activities and socially pathological behaviour. The text is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts, different perspectives on leisure time and leisrue time functions are presented. Theoretical part also deals with the offer of leisure activities in Třebíč. There is also a list of the most frequently occurring socially pathological phenomena and a brief introduction to the low-threshold club called BARÁK. The practical part is realized using a qualitative method of research, specifically an interview. Interviews are directed to clients of the low-threshold club aged 15-20 years. The aim of the thesis is to find out whether the interviewed individuals are aware that spending free time can have preventive consequences against socially pathological behavior. Satisfaction with the offer of activities in the town of Třebíč is also ascertained

Stress and its coping of social workers in low-threshold facilities

The bachelor thesis deals with stress and its prevention among social workers in low - threshold facilities for children and youth. In the theoretical part, I first deal with the description of low-threshold facilities for children and youth. I also describe the methods, forms and competencies of a social worker in a low-threshold facility for children and youth. In the second half of the theoretical part, I focused on stress in general, its consequences and psychohygiene. In the practical part I conduct research, where I compare the findings from the theoretical part with its results and at the end of the work I evaluate it. I carry out the research in the form of qualitative research using semi-structured interviews, which I conducted with employees of low-threshold facilities for children and youth.

Utilization of leisure time in a youth centre and prevention of risky behavior

The bachelor's thesis will introduce low-treshold facilities for children and youth with the intention of fulfilling educational goals. The work will be divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part will describe the facilities, their goals, mission and development. The aim of the work will be to map how the center in Strakonice uses free time, what leisure activities it offers, what is the target group of these facilities and also risky behavior of young people. Methods of working with the client and using social services will be introduced. The second part, practical, will deal with how young people perceive spending free time in the facility in Strakonice and how is it beneficial for them from their point of view. Whether it influenced them in any way and thus contributes to the prevention of risky behavior, or what would they change. The research will be qualitative and data collection will be based on a structured interview with clients.

Coping Strategies of Employees of Low-threshold Services for Drug Users

Background: Low-threshold addiction facilities are in contact primarily with active drug users and deal with a very wide range of problems and situations, including those in crisis. Coping strategies can be crucial in preventing the burnout syndrome, which puts people in the helping professions, including workers in low-threshold addiction facilities, at risk. There is no published study in our territory that would aim at coping strategies on above mentioned target group. Aims: To map coping strategies of workers in low-threshold addiction facilities and to describe possible differences in these strategies between men and women. Methods: This is an online questionnaire study among employees of all low-threshold addiction facilities in the Czech Republic. A sample research group consisted of all employees of these facilities who work here for at least 20 hours a week. Respondents were acquired by the method of self-selection. A mixed research design was chosen. Data was obtained through a standardized Stress Management Strategy questionnaire 78 and an open-ended question focusing on what helps respondents reduce stress and tension. The Benefits of Preventive Programs of Drugs Addiction in the Eyes of social workers in Low-threshold Clubs

Bachelor thesis is focused on prevention programs in area of drug addiction from the low- threshold social workers point of view. Thesis describes a characteristics of low-threshold facilities, their rules and definition of target group. Furthermore, there are sections talking about addictive substances and addiction syndrome, which characterize the effects of a physical and psychological addiction. The thesis analyses the addictive substances using by adolescents. Theoretical part ends with the prevention of a socio-pathological phenomena in society, prevention programs and precautions in low-threshold facilities. Theoretical part is followed by the practical part in which the qualitative research is described and selection of respondents is characterized. Here are the answers for partial questions that led to answering the main research question and also the data analysis. Practical part ends with description of prevention programs benefits in the area of drug addiction from the low-threshold social worker point of view.

Examples of good practise of social work with drug users from the point of view of social workers in contact centers

This bachelor work focuses on examples of good practise of social works with drug users from a view of contact workers. The theoretical part represents target group, specific methods of working with them, available equipment and provided services within low-treshold facilities. The closure is focused on direct work with clients, comunication and establishing contacst with clients. In the practical part I am trying to figure out if practice corresponds to knowledge from literature and what is good practise with users of addictive drugs at contact centres like. The research is performed trough semi-structured interviews with workers of contact centres from South Bohemian Region who already have certain experiences at contact work. The result of the research is finding examples of good practise with drug users from a view of contact workers.

Activities Aimed at the Prevention of Children´s and Youth´s Sociopathic Phenomena in Selected Youth-drop in Centers

The thesis is focused on leisure-time activities provided with respect to socio-pathic phenomena in selected Youth-drop centers. The aim of the thesis is to identify the forms of approach in social work with children with respect to culture and customs of given society. The reason for this topic selection is a personal experience of dealing with children and adolescents in Youth-drop institution as well as interest in presented problems. The thesis is divided into theoretical and survey parts. The theoretical part introduces social work as a preventing profession. Considering the compatibility, the theory was divided into social work with children and adolescents in the context of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Zambia, where the survey was implemented. Risk behavior, by which a target group of children and adolescents is threatened, was classified together with a possible prevention of pathological behavior. The survey part includes questionnaire construction, using both qualitative and quantitative methods in selected centers in the Czech Republic and the Republic of Zambia. The Qualitative research was implemented by a literal transcription method from provided interviews. The interviews were carried out together with the staff of institutions for children and adolescents of both the countries. Quantitative construction was implemented through anonymous questionnaires which were distributed among the children and adolescents in both the institutions. The scientific asset was the aforementioned identification of social work with children forms with respect to culture and customs of two different kinds of society. The thesis was a comparison with present status of services, stressing namely the activities aimed at socio-pathological traits prevention.

Truancy

This bachelor thesis focuses on different types of truancy and is divided into four chapters: types of truancy, causes of truancy, prevention of truancy, Children and Youth Centres - places for an active leisure time. In the first chapter the thesis focuses on types of truancy, second chapter describes its causes, third chapter thinks about its prevention. Fourth chapter describes Children and Youth Centres as a place for an active leisure time. This bachelor thesis aims to explain the most common reasons for truancy and to offer interesting prevention solution of this pathologic phenomenom, which is a wider use of open clubs, among which Salesian Youh Centres are undoubtedly counted. These centres are intended for general public but thanks to the fact that they are open clubs, they are also available to children from underprivileged ratios.
